Mindy Goff McCabe, Family Advocate

I am a mother, a friend and an advocate for those who are caring for a child/young adult struggling with mental health and/or substance use disorders. My passion is to support, educate and listen to those who are navigating difficult situations and may feel they are walking this path alone.

I know from firsthand experience how isolating and challenging these conditions can be. I know how fragile and complicated life can become as a result of these diseases. I also know what it is like to not have a safe space to talk, process or be supported through these complicated challenges.

I have a Bachelors of Arts degree from Hartwick College in both Anthropology and Political Science. I was a stay-at-home mom for many years, a home school instructor and am now currently a preschool teacher to 3-5 year olds at a local preschool.  I also run my educational initiative Inspired by Jack which is a legacy to my late son, Jack who passed away unexpectedly from complications of mental health and substance use disorder.
